ABOUT

The Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation was founded in November 2001 by Costas, Platon, Marios and Isabella Lanitis, children of Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis. It has been registered according to the law, as a non-profit organisation, based in Limassol.

The Foundation was created in memory of the late Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis and aims to continue their social contribution. Currently it is the “vehicle” via which the Lanitis Group and its subsidiary companies are contributing to the society through a specific plan of activities (Corporate Social Responsibility Plan).

The Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation organises and/or sponsors cultural and educational events, which promote human achievements. In the few years of its operation, it has organized a series of important events, such as exhibitions, conferences, lectures e.t.c., in collaboration with local and international institutions.

The Foundation is supervised by its Board of Directors, which includes members of the Lanitis family as well as independent members such as the Mayor of Limassol. The Foundation's activities are managed by a 5-member Executive Committee which is also responsible for creating and executing the annual action plan.

OVERVIEW

The Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation is the reflection and the practical continuation of the vision of the Lanitis Group, for the timeless contribution of both the Lanitis family and the Group to Cyprus and its society.

Culture, Education and Health are the Foundation's main pillars of social contribution.

Regarding the cultural sector in particular, during its years of operation, the Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation organized a series of important cultural and educational events, such as exhibitions, conferences, lectures, etc., in collaboration with local and international organizations. Examples of such important events are the exhibitions 'In the Light of the Shadow', 'Illuminating the Athletic Body', 'Weaving the Greek Myths', 'Hyperlinks', 'Terpandros – Reconstructions of Ancient Musical Instruments', 'Toulouse Lautrec', 'Nautilus' etc.

In the context of the above events, the Foundation collaborated with major international cultural organizations such as the Olympic Museum of Lausanne and the Petit Palais Museum of Fine Arts in Paris, as well as with the Ministry of Education and Culture, the University of Cyprus, etc.

The most recent activities of the Foundation include the following:

  • Yearly support of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, through the purchase of medical equipment for the needs of the “Evagorion” Palliative Care Centre of the Anti-Cancer Society in Limassol.
  • Strategic partnership, collaboration, and support of Radiomarathonios Foundation.
  • 3 years scholarships’ plan for the students of Cyprus University of Technology (ΤΕ.ΠΑ.Κ).
  • Yearly support of the organization of the Limassol Annual International Documentary Festival.
